I’m Elle.

Final year BSc nutritional therapist, photographer & owner of one very sensitve gut. 

I was diagnosed with IBS in 2018 after an *interesting* holiday in Bali. After getting little relief from conventional medince, I knew there had to be another way. Enter functional medicine, nutritional therapy in particular.

I was so amazed by the improvement in my gut health that I knew I had to share what I had learnt. But, I am not one to do things by half. So I decided to head back to school and undertake a nutrition degree.

Think of me as your health personal health cheerleader helping you find the root cause of your symptoms and providing evidence based nutritional stratergies to guide you back to health.

You inspired this book. I didn’t realise how awful IBS was or how little help there was until I experienced it myself. I started sharing my experience and was shocked at how many people were suffering too.

After receiving so many heart-breaking messages from people feeling ignored by their doctor, alone, lost, frustrated and in an unnecessary world of pain, I felt I HAD to write this book.

I truly hope it gives you clarity, comfort and the tools you need to start healing your gut for good.

Just like you, I have first-hand experience of horrendous IBS, leaky gut, inflammation, food intolerances and parasites.

I have been lucky enough to see both medical experts and holistic health practitioners. This book is a mix of both science and holistic healing. It’s all the things I found most helpful in healing my gut and truly believe it can help you too.

Plus, I’m not a fan of gate keeping or fluffy nonsense. I have packed this book full of information that is both practical and helpful. Can I get a yaaaaaas.

Oh, and because I am sooo passionate about health and nutrition I have a distinction in level 4 clinical nutrition, and am currently studying for a BSc hons degree in nutritional therapy.

Truth be told, I tried them and guess what, they didn’t work as a long-term solution. IBS SOS is about giving you the knowledge, tools and resources to take the right action for you, so you can heal your gut for good.

I have included a section on FODMAPs and elimination diets as a tool to help identify triggers, not as a life long diet. In the ‘how to heal’ chapter I have suggested foods and supplements that support gut healing, as well as the foods I ate to heal from parasitic infection and dysbiosis (unbalanced gut bacteria).
