Includes: 30 minute pre-test consultation, test kit and postage, lab analysis, 30 minute results consultation, and your personalised report.

If you’ve had bloodwork come back “normal” but you’re still dealing with acne, low energy, heavy or irregular cycles, or symptoms that don’t quite add up, the DUTCH test might help shed light on what’s going on.

The DUTCH (dried urine test for comprehensive hormones) Complete test looks at a wider picture of your hormones and how your body is processing them.

But a results PDF full of graphs and reference ranges isn’t much use without someone to help you understand what it’s actually showing, and how it relates to you.

That’s why any test I offer includes a consultation to ensure the results can be translated into plain English and turned into an actionable plan focused on what your body needs.

Who is this for?

This DUTCH test tends to be very useful if you recognise some of the following:

If you’ve already tried the usual approaches without getting the clarity you need, testing can provide more detailed information to help guide your next steps.

Think the DUTCH test could help you?

Who is this for?

This service tends to be most useful if you recognise some of the following:

Gut symptoms that haven’t been fully explained by your GP –> bloating, gas, irregular bowel habits, discomfort, IBS.

But you still don’t feel right

Yet you’re not seeing the improvements you’d except

Such as acne, that don’t seem to be resolving with topical treatment alone

Rather than another generic list of foods to avoid

This isn’t about starting from scratch.

It’s for people who’ve already put the groundwork in and want more specific information to work from.

What the DUTCH Complete test looks at

The DUTCH Complete test uses 4 to 5 dried urine samples collected at home to look at:

Sex hormones

hormone levels and how the body processing them

Oestrogen

Progesterone

Testosterone

DHEA-S

DHT and other androgen metabolites

Cortisol pattern

cortisol pattern across the day and how cortisol is being metabolised

24 hours free cortisol and cortisone

Metabolised cortisol

Organic acid profile

small selection of markers providing additional information on certain nutrient-related and metabolic pathways

B6, B7 (biotin) and B12

Gluathione

Intestinal dysbiosis

Neurotransmitter activity

Melatonin production

Oxidative stress

A blood test is snapshot looking at circulating hormones at the specific time the sample was taken. Blood tests are helpful for diagnosing endocrine disorders like thyroid conditions, PCOS/ PMOS, adrenal insufficiency/ Addisons’s disease, pre-diabetes or diabetes, and looking at potential causes of infertility.

The DUTCH test complete looks at hormones in more detail over a full 24 hour period. It measures metabolites of sex and adrenal hormones to show hormones levels as well as how your body metabolises and detoxifies hormones. It can help answer questions that a blood test can’t, like: what oestrogen or androgen pathway does your body favour? What’s your daily cortisol pattern? Is there a need for B vitamin, anti-oxidant or melatonin support?

The report itself is thorough and genuinely useful data sits inside it.

But on its own, pages of graphs and reference ranges isn’t something most people can turn into an actional plan.

That’s where interpretation comes in.

Why testing with interpretation matters

‘Why not just order the test myself?’ I hear you ask.

Sure, you can buy a DUTCH test independently. But without someone to go through the test with you, you’ll probably end up with more questions than you started with.

A DUTCH report contains a large amount of data, and data without understanding becomes meaningless.

Interpretation means looking at your results alongside:

  • Your symptoms and health history
  • Your current diet, lifestyle and supplement use
  • Your cycle, sleep and stress patterns
  • Your goals and what you’re hoping to understand from testing

This is what allows me to identify the findings that are actually relevant to you, rather than talking through the report line by line.

What’s included in the DUTCH test?

  • A 30-minute pre-test consultation to review your health history, symptoms, diet, lifestyle and goals
  • Full test instructions and support so your samples are collected correctly
  • Your DUTCH Complete Test kit, sent to your home and return label
  • Review and clinical interpretation of your results
  • A 30-minute results consultation to talk through the findings
  • A personalised written report summarising what’s relevant to you with dietary, lifestyle and supplement suggestions (where appropriate) and possible next steps

How the process works

How the
process works

1. Questionnaire & food diary
You complete a short health questionnaire and 3-day food diary so I have context before we speak.
2. Pre-test consultation (30 minutes)
We talk through your history, symptoms, diet and what you're hoping to understand. I'll also make sure you're confident with the test instructions.
3. At-home testing
You collect 4–5 dried urine samples over 24 hours, from home. The kit comes with clear instructions so you know when to collect.
4. Results processing
Your samples are sent for analysis. Results typically take around 2 weeks once they arrive at the lab.
5. Results consultation (30 minutes)
We go through your results together and talk about how they relate to your symptoms or concerns.
6. Your written report
You receive a personalised summary of the relevant findings, dietary and lifestyle suggestions and possible next steps, to keep and refer back to.

What happens in your results consultation?

Your results consultation isn’t a read-through of every marker on the report. We’ll focus on the findings that are relevant to your symptoms and goals.

You won’t leave with a long list of supplements or a complete overhaul of your diet. The aim is clarity, not overwhelm. You’ll come away with a clearer understanding of what your results are showing and what you can do next.

The DUTCH test might not be for you if:

  • You’re looking for a diagnosis. DUTCH testing can offer useful information, but it isn’t a diagnostic tool.
  • You’re currently on the oral contraceptive pill. The OCP suppresses your sex hormones, limiting the value of the test.
  • You’re looking for a quick fix or a guaranteed explanation of the root cause of your symptoms, rather than one part of a broader picture.

If you’re unsure if the DUTCH test is right fit for you, feel free to get in touch before booking.

FAQs

Your questions answered

No, this is a private service and no referral is needed.

No. The DUTCH Complete Test isn’t a diagnostic tool. It may provide useful information alongside your symptoms and history, but it doesn’t identify or confirm a specific condition.

Typically around 3 – 4 weeks from your first consultation to receiving your written report, depending on lab turnaround.

No if you’re taking the oral contraceptive pill. The DUTCH test may be less informative because the pill suppresses your natural ovarian hormone production. As a result, oestrogen, progesterone and adrogen results will be lower and test results will not be clinically useful.

Yes if you’re using the copper IUD as it contains no synthetic hormones.

Yes if you’re using the mirena coil. Your progesterone levels may show up low due to the synthetic progestin released locally from the coil. But you’ll still get very usefull information about your oestrogen, androgens, cortisol etc.

Yes. If you’re using HRT, the DUTCH test can be useful to assessing how you’re responding to it.

If you’ve started a stable dose of HRT, it’s best to wait at least 6 – 8 weeks before doing the DUTCH test. This gives your hormone levels time to settle and provides a more useful picture of how you’re responding to your current regime.

That’s useful information and context to have. We’ll discuss any previous results during your consultation. It’s likley that the DUTCH test could provide additional information that may be relevant to your symptoms and goals.
